How syncing and history work

What is imported, how far back it goes and how often it refreshes.

SaaSMaestro copies aggregated daily figures from Google into its own database, so pages load instantly and comparisons can reach years back.

The first sync

When a website is added or its data sources change, SaaSMaestro imports its history:

SourceHistory imported
Google Analytics 4Up to 5 years of daily totals. Days before the property started collecting data stay empty.
Search ConsoleAbout 16 months, which is everything Google keeps.

What is collected

  • Daily totals: visitors (GA4 sessions), users, engaged sessions and conversions (GA4 key events) from GA4; clicks, impressions and average position from Search Console.
  • Breakdowns for the last 7, 28 and 90 days, each with the period before: traffic channels, the top landing pages and the top search queries.
  • Extra detail used for checks: devices, which pages rank for which searches, and rising searches.

Only aggregated reporting data is read. See Privacy and your data.

How often it updates

Every website is synced automatically every six hours, spread evenly through the day. Each sync re-reads the last 10 days, because Google keeps revising recent Search Console figures for a few days.

To update straight away:

  • Click “↻ Sync now” on a website’s page, or right-click it in the sidebar and choose “Sync now”.
  • Click “↻ Sync all websites” on the Data connections tab.

Periods and comparisons

Choose 7, 28 or 90 days with the period filter and compare against the previous period or the same days last year. Periods always end yesterday, because today isn’t complete yet.

Search Console data usually arrives two or three days late. When it does, SaaSMaestro trims the same number of days from both periods so the comparison stays like for like.

Checking freshness

The Data connections tab has a data freshness table showing when each website last updated. Anything older than the “Flag data as stale after (hours)” setting (48 hours by default) is marked stale and raises an issue. See Fixing connection and data problems.

Related questions

How much history is imported?

The first sync imports up to 5 years of GA4 history and about 16 months of Search Console data (all that Search Console keeps), so year-over-year comparisons and long-term trends work from day one. After that, data refreshes automatically every six hours.

How often does the data update?

Every website is synced automatically every six hours. Each sync re-reads the last 10 days, because Google revises recent Search Console figures. You can also click “Sync now” on a website’s page at any time.

Why do the numbers end yesterday?

Today isn’t over, so a partial day would always look like a drop. Search Console also reports a few days late, so SaaSMaestro trims the same number of days from both periods to keep comparisons fair.
