Google ranks the website noticeably lower for people searching on phones than on desktop. As Google judges websites mainly by their mobile version, this often points to a problem with it.
What it suggests
Mobile visitors are seeing the website further down the results than desktop visitors, so it misses mobile clicks. Common reasons are content hidden or cut on mobile, slow loading on phones and pages that are hard to use on a small screen.
When it’s suggested
SaaSMaestro compares Search Console’s average position by device over the last 28 days. The tip appears when mobile and desktop each had at least 500 impressions and the mobile position is 3 or more places worse. It is an Info tip.
What to do
- Open the top pages on a phone and compare them with desktop: is any text, image, link or structured data missing on mobile?
- Check mobile speed with PageSpeed Insights and fix the biggest problems it lists.
- Make sure pop-ups don’t cover the content on mobile and that text and buttons are large enough to use.
Slow pages for real visitors are also raised as Poor Core Web Vitals.
When it goes away
SaaSMaestro rechecks its tips every day against the latest data. Once the rule no longer applies for 7 days, the tip drops off the board.
If you tick it off or dismiss it, it stays off the board unless the situation clears for at least 7 days and then returns, when it comes back as “Back again”.
