Tip: fix mobile conversion

Mobile visitors convert at under half the desktop rate.

Visitors on phones convert at less than half the rate of desktop visitors. Some gap is normal, but this much usually means something on the mobile version gets in the way.

What it suggests

Mobile visitors are reaching the website but not completing the form, sign-up or purchase. Each lost mobile conversion is a visitor you already paid to win.

When it’s suggested

SaaSMaestro compares GA4 visitors and key events by device over the last 28 days. The tip appears when mobile and desktop each had at least 200 visitors, desktop had at least 10 conversions, and the mobile conversion rate is under half the desktop rate.

It is a Medium tip and shows both conversion rates. It needs Conversions switched on under What to show in the workspace settings.

What to do

  1. Go through the main conversion path on a real phone: find the call to action, fill in the form, complete the checkout.
  2. Look for buttons hidden below pop-ups or cookie banners, fields that are hard to fill in, and steps that load slowly on mobile data.
  3. Check that the key event fires on mobile too, for example when a form shows its thank-you message without a page change.

When it goes away

SaaSMaestro rechecks its tips every day against the latest data. Once the rule no longer applies for 7 days, the tip drops off the board.

If you tick it off and the gap is still there 14 days later, it comes back as “Fix didn’t work”. A dismissed tip only returns if the gap closes for at least 7 days and then opens again.
