Another website in the same group ranks near the top for a search where this website also appears, but much further down. The two are splitting attention one of them clearly wins.
What it suggests
The weaker page brings few clicks and may hold back the stronger one. Deciding which website should own the search lets you put your effort behind one page.
When it’s suggested
SaaSMaestro compares the top 100 Search Console searches of websites in the same group, over your default comparison period (28 days by default). It looks for searches where this website has at least 100 impressions and ranks beyond position 10 while a sister website ranks in the top 5.
One Info tip per website names the busiest such search with both positions, and counts how many searches are affected.
What to do
- Decide which website should own the search; usually the one that already leads.
- Link from this website’s page to the sister website’s page, or merge the content into the leading page.
- If both pages should stay, make this website’s page focus on a different angle so the two stop competing.
Groups are set up as described in Workspaces and groups. For searches shared by any of your websites, see Idea: settle query overlap.
When it goes away
SaaSMaestro rechecks its tips every day against the latest data. Once the rule no longer applies for 7 days, the tip drops off the board.
If you tick it off or dismiss it, it stays off the board unless the situation clears for at least 7 days and then returns, when it comes back as “Back again”.
