Most of the website’s visitors arrive through a single channel, such as Organic Search. If that channel has a bad month, the whole website does too.
What it suggests
A Google update, a lost referral partner or a change on one platform can take away most of the traffic overnight. A second channel that brings in a meaningful share spreads that risk.
When it’s suggested
SaaSMaestro uses GA4 visitors by channel over your default comparison period (28 days by default). The tip appears when the website had at least 200 visitors and one channel brought 70% or more of them. It is an Info tip.
What to do
- Pick one channel that suits the website and its audience: email, social, referrals from partners or directories, or paid campaigns.
- Give it a modest, regular effort for a few months, for example a monthly newsletter or a few partner links, rather than trying everything at once.
- Use UTM tags on links you control, so GA4 assigns the visits to the right channel.
If the channel already works on your other websites, see Tip: copy a channel from a sister site.
When it goes away
SaaSMaestro rechecks its tips every day against the latest data. Once the rule no longer applies for 7 days, the tip drops off the board.
If you tick it off or dismiss it, it stays off the board unless the situation clears for at least 7 days and then returns, when it comes back as “Back again”.
